Scotland Bill should 'end politics of grievance', says Labour's Ian Murray

Scottish Labour MP Ian Murray says new powers planned for Scotland should "end the politics of grievance" and allow politicians to "turn Scotland into the fairest nation on earth".

He was speaking ahead of the House of Commons debating the second reading of the Scotland Bill.

Mr Murray told BBC Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme: "What this does is give the Scottish Parliament much more power over taxes that it raises through income tax, which is the biggest personal tax that people will pay in Scotland.

"That gives accountability, so we can see the end of the politics of grievance, start getting on and doing the job and turning Scotland into the fairest nation on earth."
