Election 2017: Sturgeon says she hopes Brexit is not a disaster

SNP leader and Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she hoped Brexit would not be a disaster.

She made the comment while being interviewed by the BBC's Glenn Campbell during the "Ask the Leaders" TV special.

Ms Sturgeon went on to say: " I hope a deal is done that isn't disastrous.

"But I can's suspend by critical faculties."

Ms Sturgeon also said that she could not say that "independence is a magical solution to everything."

She added: "Nor do I say that supporting independence lets me or my government off the hook in terms of the issues you [audience member] raise."
