The Flying Scotsman is welcomed by hundreds of steam enthusiasts
The Flying Scotsman was welcomed by hundreds of steam enthusiasts as it returned to Scotland for the first time since its restoration.
About 800 people turned up at Edinburgh's Waverley Station before the famous engine set off on the Borders Railway.
It arrived in Scotland on Saturday evening, hours after a U-turn by Network Rail which on Friday said it could not travel on either the Borders line or the Forth Bridge because the suitability of the line had not been checked.
