Crohn's disease: 'Eating bark cured me'

A grandmother living in Cardiff says eating the bark from trees has cured her Crohn's disease.

It's estimated that about 90,000 people in the UK suffer from the disease that affects the bowel.

Marlene Barnes, 72, says she hit on the idea after reading extensively about the medicinal properties of plants and trees around the world.

She spoke to Oliver Hides on BBC Radio Wales, along with Dr Simon Gabe, a consultant gastroenterologist at St Mark's Hospital in Harrow.
