Adoption plans do not go far enough, AMs tell ministers
The Welsh government's plans to establish a national adoption service for Wales do not go far enough, according to a new report by the Welsh assembly's Children and Young People's Committee.
The inquiry found inconsistencies in the approach of adoption services across Wales, including the way in which adopters are recruited and assessed and also in the support given to parents post-adoption.
Gerry Cooney, chief executive of St David's Children's Society, and John Wilkinson, an adoptive father from Cardiff, spoke to Radio Wales' Oliver Hides.
