Gwrych Castle hotel restoration plan before Conwy council

A castle folly which has fallen into ruins could be restored to its former glory if councillors in Conwy give developers the go ahead to turn it into a luxury hotel.

Gwrych Castle near Abergele is a prominent landmark for motorists travelling on the A55, but the Grade I listed Gothic folly, built in 1819, is now roofless and overgrown after years of neglect.

Jason Sanderson tells Sarah Easedale more about his plans.
