School banding results explained
The latest banding data for secondary schools in Wales reveals that the best performing school in last year's results has dropped three bands this year, from Band 1 to Band 4.
The score of Ysgol Tryfan in Bangor, Gwynedd, has fallen relative to other schools in Wales but it does not mean it has performed significantly worse than in 2011.
The Welsh government puts secondary schools into five bands based on factors such as GCSE performance.
Opposition parties say the system is too crude and simplistic.
Education correspondent Nicola Smith discusses the banding results with Rebecca John on BBC Wales Today.
