Calon Lan writer Daniel James's story to become film

The life of the man who penned the hymn Calon Lan - a Welsh rugby favourites and sung by Only Boys Aloud to reach the final of ITV's Britain's Got Talent - is to be turned into an animated film.

The history group at Treboeth near Swansea, where he was born, has been awarded a £4,100 grant to make the film about Daniel James, who was born 165 years ago this month.

They plan to make sure his story is carried on for the next generation.

Swansea University's Dr Gwenno Ffrancon spoke to Peter Johnson on Good Morning Wales.
