Welsh assembly: Presiding officer wants more women AMs
Political leaders in Wales have been urged to ensure more women are elected to the Welsh assembly.
In a letter sent to each of the four parties, presiding officer Rosemary Butler says the assembly's make-up must reflect the population for it to be effective.
Ms Butler also voiced concerns that not enough women are "coming forward" in many walks of public life across Wales.
Ruth Porter is director of communications at the Institute of Economic Affairs, and she has written on the issue of women in politics. She spoke to Felicity Evans on BBC Radio Wales.
