Falkland referendum: Islanders' vote 'important' around the world

The referendum in the Falkland Islands has great significance to the rest of the world, a Bridgend MP has said.

Madeleine Moon, a member of the Commons defence select committee and the all party group on the Falkland Islands, said the United Nations will be paying close attention to the result.

Islanders are going to the polls on Sunday and Monday in a referendum on whether to remain a British overseas territory.

It is in response to Argentine pressure for negotiations over sovereignty.

Vaughan Roderick spoke to Madeleine Moon MP on Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement programme.
