Baroness Shirley Williams gives coalition '18 months'

Liberal Democrat peer Baroness Shirley Williams says she does not think the Conservative-Lib Dem UK Government coalition will survive a full term in Parliament.

The former Labour minister and co-founder of the SDP, said the Conservative Party was "deeply divided" and the ground was "cracking" under Prime Minister David Cameron's feet.

She told Vaughan Roderick on BBC Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement the pressures would increase on the Tories and Lib Dems in the run-up to the next General Election.

Baroness Williams says the achievement of creating a coalition that is reasonably effective is being put at risk by its current divisions and growing pressures may mean a split before 2015.
