Cycling guru Sir Dave Brailsford back home for Etape Eryri

Team GB's cycling guru Sir Dave Brailsford returned to his childhood home in north Wales to get back on his bike - and help launch a cycling event.

It was like old times for the man who masterminded Team Sky and Bradley Wiggins' Tour de France victory last year, as he took part in a 47-mile ride in Gwynedd, retracing his former training lap.

The Etape Eryri, external took cyclists over three different scenic routes in Snowdonia all starting and finishing in the centre of Caernarfon.

Sir Dave, who led Team GB to gold at London 2012, grew up in nearby Deiniolen and spoke after returning from a familiar journey that had seen him meet up with old friends.
