Penarth Pavilion £4.2m renovation on track

As a £4.2m project to renovate Penarth Pavilion approaches completion there are plans to use it for a number of community and art-based activities.

Plans to restore the art deco-style pavilion on Penarth pier were given the go ahead in March 2011.

The pier originally opened in April 1895, and drew hundreds of visitors, many of whom arrived there by paddle steamer.

Dr David Trotman, director of the Penarth Pavillion project, explains what has been achieved and the plans for its future.
