The Sun newspaper 'interested' in Wales office, Guto Harri

The editor of the Sun newspaper is interested in setting up an office in south Wales, according to Guto Harri, the communications director of Rupert Murdoch's media empire, News UK.

During a speech in Cardiff he told the Royal Television Society that a Sun office in Swansea or Cardiff is not out of the question.

He said they were looking at an opportunity of setting up an office, "not least with two clubs in the Premier League".

Mr Harri, a former BBC journalist and press advisor for Mayor of London Boris Johnson, rejected suggestions that the London newspapers ignore or patronise Wales.

BBC Wales political correspondent Aled ap Dafydd asked him about claims a lack of coverage of Welsh affairs meant there was a "democratic deficit".
