Swansea woman waits for news of her family in the Philippines

As a Swansea woman waits for news of her family in the Philippines the first minister has called on the people of Wales to support the emergency relief effort following Typhoon Haiyan.

First Minister Carwyn Jones urged people to make a donation to the Disaster Emergency Committee's (DEC) appeal.

"The people of Wales have shown great generosity to DEC appeals in the past, and I urge them to show their support once again to help the millions of people suffering in the Philippines," he said.

Evelyn Morgan, who works at Swansea's Singleton Hospital, chairs the Filipino Welsh Association.

She told the BBC's Mark Hutchings that she has had just the briefest contact with her family and is desperate for more news.
