World record hope for huge St David's Day Welsh cake

A Gwynedd town is waiting to hear if it has broken the world record for the largest Welsh cake ever made.

It weighed close to 22kg and measured 1.5m (5ft) in width.

Mel Williams, chair of Bala and Penllyn Tourism Association, who came up with the idea, told Mai Davies on BBC Radio Wales all about it.
