60,000 tonnes of Llandudno beach stone lost in storm

About 60,000 tonnes of stones has to be returned to Llandudno's North Shore after the winter storms, according to a senior Conwy councillor.

The council is receiving the lion's share of Welsh government funds for local authorities to pay for emergency flood and storm repairs.

Mike Priestley, cabinet member for environment, highways and sustainability, told reporter Chris Dearden the work could not have gone ahead without £3.8m in Welsh government funding.
