'Assurances' over new GCSE exams in Wales

Assurances were given 16 months ago by the Welsh government to teachers that pupils would not be disadvantaged by the introduction of new English language GCSE exams, BBC Wales has learned.

Teachers from 100 schools have expressed anger at unexpectedly low results received by pupils who sat the new English GCSE in January.

It has left pupils, parents and teachers distraught, their union claims.
