Kinnock name 'not always an advantage', says Aberavon candidate

Stephen Kinnock, son of the former Labour leader Neil Kinnock, has been selected as the Labour candidate for Aberavon at the 2015 general election.

Mr Kinnock, 44, is married to Danish Prime Minister Helle Thoring-Schmidt.

He has been living locally for three months but has been based in London where he works for the business advisory company Xynteo.

Aberavon MP Hywel Francis announced last November his intention to step down in 2015.

Mr Kinnock told Daniel Davies on the BBC's Sunday Politics Wales that his famous family name did not necessarily work to his advantage.
