Domestic abuse film released on Clare's law roll-out

Two of Wales' four police forces have been criticised over their handling of domestic abuse cases.

A report by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) looked at how all 43 forces in England and Wales responded to the problem.

It found victims were at risk of not getting the response or service they needed from North Wales Police.

And it said there were significant concerns about how Gwent Police responded to some victims.

Gwent Independent Film Trust, which was set up by the former Gwent Policy Authority and the then University of Wales Newport, has made a film about domestic abuse called Devil's Vice.

It is the story of a young middle class couple, a pregnant woman and her husband living in rural Monmouthshire.

The film explores control, manipulation and other complexities surrounding domestic abuse from a totally different angle.

The film is released as Clare's Law - the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme - is rolled out across all UK police forces.
