Carwyn Jones accuses MoD of leak in soldier treatment row

First Minister Carwyn Jones has accused the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of leaking information to "damage" the Welsh Government in the ongoing row over NHS treatment for soldiers.

Mr Jones made the claim after a Sunday newspaper quoted the armed forces' most senior medical officer saying wounded soldiers wait longer for treatment in Wales than England.

A MoD spokesperson said: "Information about troops and treatment times in Wales was not leaked, but came from an FOI [Freedom of Information] response that the media approached the MoD about on Saturday."
