Prof Karel Williams calls for new Wales economic policies

An influential academic says orthodox economic policies are not working for Wales, and the Welsh government should look at new strategies.

As part of BBC Wales' 'Measuring Devolution' series, Prof Karel Williams, from the University of Manchester, says Wales has become poorer in the 15 years since devolution, in terms of the goods and services it produces.

The Welsh government says Wales has outperformed most of the UK since 1999.

Economics correspondent Sarah Dickins reports for BBC Wales Today.
