Fitzalan High school history pupils build WWI trench

As Wales prepares to mark to the centenary of the outbreak of World War One, school children in Cardiff have been given a unique insight into what it was like to fight in that conflict.

Pupils and staff at Fitzalan High School have built a permanent, life-sized trench in the school grounds, complete with artefacts from the time.
