Three Princess of Wales Hospital nurses bailed over records

Three nurses have appeared at Bridgend magistrates court charged with wilful neglect of nine patients at the Princess of Wales Hospital.

They are accused of failing to check blood glucose levels and then falsifying patients' notes.

Rebecca Jones, 29, faces nine charges, and both Lauro Bertulano, 44, and Clare Cahill, 41, are accused of six.

The defendants did not enter pleas and were remanded on bail to appear at Cardiff Crown Court on 11 August.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between September 2012 and January 2013 on a specialist ward that dealt mostly with stroke patients and general medical patients.

Extra seating had to be brought in to the courtroom to accommodate the families and friends of the patients.
