£50 fine plan for smoking in cars with children on board

Plans have been announced to introduce on-the-spot fines for people smoking in cars, with children as passengers.

Anyone caught would have to pay a £50 pound penalty.

A six week consultation started on Thursday with the Welsh government saying the change would protect under 18s from the harm caused by second hand smoke.
