Labour: Smoking plan is to 'protect children'

A Labour plan to ban smoking in cars carrying children is due to be put to a vote in the House of Lords on Wednesday.

Labour peers are to table an amendment to the Children and Families Bill, detailing their proposal for England.

Shadow public health minister Luciana Berger, said it was important to protect children, because they could not exercise the same choice as adults.
