MPs debate call for air strikes on Islamic State

MPs return to Parliament today to vote on whether Britain should back the US-led airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Iraq.

It's just over a year since Prime Minister David Cameron lost the Commons vote against military intervention in Syria.

Peter Hain, the Labour MP for Neath, was opposed to air strikes in Syria but told BBC Radio Wales that Islamic State was a different matter.

But Hywel Williams, Plaid Cymru MP for Arfon, said he was concerned that air strikes would result in Britain getting sucked into an international conflict.
