Mergers savings 'won't be enough,' Monmouthshire leader says
Merging councils in Wales will not "scratch the surface" of the savings they need to make now, says a council leader.
Peter Fox, leader of Monmouthshire council, spoke out after local authorities were told by the Welsh government that they will have £146m less from next April.
Ministers want Welsh council numbers to drop from 22 to 10 or 12 and say it will happen "voluntary or not".
Mr Fox spoke to Radio Wales' Oliver Hides.
