'Unfair' to say NHS in Wales is in crisis, says senior doctor

One of Wales' most senior doctors has told Wales Today it is "unfair" to say the NHS in Wales is in crisis.

Dr Alan Rees, from the Royal College of Physicians in Wales, said recent criticism is "abhorrent" and "politically motivated".

He does admit, however, some problems in the Welsh health service need to be addressed.

His comments come after a political row erupted in recent weeks between the UK and Welsh governments on how the NHS is run in Wales.

Owain Clarke reports.
