A40 road improvements under spotlight after Murco loss

Plans to improve one of the main routes into Pembrokeshire - the A40 - are to be looked at urgently, according to the Welsh government.

It comes a week after a deal to save the Murco refinery collapsed with the loss of hundreds of jobs.

The sale of the refinery to the Swiss-based Klesch Group was called off at the last minute after certain conditions were not met.

The Welsh government said it is determined to support the workforce and the local economy of Pembrokeshire.

Matt Murray reports.
