Swansea Bay tidal energy project attracts overseas interest

The firm behind plans for the world's first power-generating tidal lagoon at Swansea Bay says it has attracted interest from India and France.

The comments by Tidal Lagoon Power's chief executive Mark Shorrock comes after it was revealed the project has been named in the National Infrastructure Plan published ahead of the chancellor's Autumn Statement.

Welsh Secretary Stephen Crabb said the £1bn project could bring a "massive boost" to the Welsh economy, creating thousands of jobs.

Mr Shorrock told Felicity Evans on BBC Radio Wales: "This is Wales leading the world."
