Five held in anti-terror raids in Cardiff and Barry

Five men have been arrested following raids on six homes in Cardiff and Barry under anti-terror laws.

The raids in Cardiff were centred on the Grangetown area of the city all within a few streets of each other. Police believe all of those arrested were known to each other.

The men, aged 19-32, were arrested under section 12 of the the Terrorism Act, creating offences in relation to the support of proscribed organisations.

Two of the men have been named as Rofi Islam and Sajid Idris.
