North Wales Police force's nuisance 999 calls

A noisy washing machine, a missed food order and a complaint over a lack of taxis are among the 999 calls North Wales Police have received recently.

The force has launched its annual campaign to cut unnecessary calls.

It received a total of 7,816 calls to 999 between 24 December 2013 and 1 January 2014.

Supt Alex Goss said phoning 999 for trivial matters "is a complete waste of resources" that could prevent a genuine life or death call being put through.
