University Hospital of Wales: 'All hands on deck' at A&E

The stress A&E staff face at Wales' biggest hospital is worse than one nurse said she faced on the front line during the second Iraq war.

The anonymous nurse's account was pinned to a notice board after it was raised in a staff forum.

Health board officials said staff at all levels were working "tirelessly" to meet "extraordinary demand" from winter pressures.

BBC Wales health correspondent spent Owain Clarke spent Tuesday afternoon in the department and talked to lead nurse Sharon O'Brien and patient Robin Duggan, who had been admitted the day before with a heart attack.
