Riders stranded on fairground ride at Coney Beach, Porthcawl

A south Wales funfair has apologised after several people were left stranded in the air when a thrill ride broke down.

The riders on the Miami Madness attraction at Coney Beach in Porthcawl were stuck for about 40 minutes, say operators.

Firefighters were called to the scene while fairground engineers worked to free the passengers.

The fairground said the ride halted after safety systems kicked in.
