Moneypenny boss 'amazed' at basic skills failures

Politicians need to ensure young people have the right education and skills to take advantage of thousands of jobs, the North Wales Economic Ambition Board said.

Job opportunities for the region range from developing the two enterprise zones on Anglesey and Deeside to the new super-prison at Wrexham.

Meanwhile, Rachel Clacher co-founder of office services firm Moneypenny - which employs 400 people in Wrexham - said it is a "tragedy" that she came across potential workers with the right attitude but lacking in basic literacy skills.

She is even setting up a bridging qualification with Coleg Cambria to ensure students have the rudiments.
