National Trust buys Great Orme farmland to preserve area
A farm and 145 acres of land near the summit of the Great Orme in Conwy county have been bought by the National Trust as it looks to preserve the important botanical site.
Parc Farm went up for sale earlier this year and has now been secured, in part due to a £600,000 contribution from the charity's Neptune campaign.
The deal includes grazing rights over an additional 720 acres (291 hectares) of headland near Llandudno.
Director of the National Trust in Wales Justin Albert said the Great Orme is home to a wild cotoneaster that does not exist anywhere else in the world.
Parc Farm was put up for sale last month with the potential to develop its limestone grasslands into a golf course.
