World record after Calon Lan sung in Wales and Argentina

A new world record was set for the longest-distance duet ever, following a performance that took place simultaneously in Wales and Argentina.

Classical singer and presenter Shan Cothi sang Welsh hymn Calon Lan in Cardiff along with Andres Evans in Patagonia.

The BBC Radio Cymru broadcast went out live on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio 3 as part of BBC Music Day on Friday.

It has been officially certified by Guinness World Records as 'the greatest distance between people singing a duet'.

The link-up was also one of a number of projects this year marking the 150th anniversary of the establishment of a Welsh settlement in Patagonia in 1865.
