Cardiff city deal explained in 60 seconds
A multimillion-pound 'city deal' of major investment for Cardiff could benefit people across south Wales, council leaders will be told on Thursday.
Welsh Secretary Stephen Crabb invited 10 leaders to a meeting in Cardiff to assess support for the idea.
Cardiff council leader Phil Bale said a £500,000 fund is needed to develop a business case for a bid.
The UK government said the funding depends on the Welsh government and councils paying a contribution.
BBC Wales economics correspondent Sarah Dickins explains what a city deal is.
