National Eisteddfod: Abstract artist Glyn Baines, 84, on award

The gold medal for fine art at the National Eisteddfod has been awarded to its oldest recipient - 84-year-old abstract painter Glyn Baines from Bala, Gwynedd.

He is inspired by the nature in the north Wales landscape - and in his garden.

Strips of paper are cut out and piled up on his studio floor before they are transformed on the canvas.

"Every piece is a problem but it's great fun," he told BBC Wales arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas.
