VJ Day: 'We were the forgotten army' says veteran

A Burma veteran has spoken about being part of the "forgotten army", as commemorations mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in Japan day.

Bombadier Raymond Clemo, from Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, attended a service at St John's Church in Cardiff.

He served with the Royal Artillery on the Eastern Front and, while Europe was celebrating after the war ended on 8 May 1945, he and his fellow men continued to fight.

It was not until 15 August 1945 their war ended - just days after the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

He spoke to BBC Wales, as did Canon Dr Sarah Rowland Jones.
