Mother backs meningitis B vaccine in Wales

A mother whose baby son died after contracting meningitis B has urged parents to take up the new vaccination programme.

From 1 September, the MenB vaccine will be added to the NHS childhood immunisation programme in Wales and England.

The disease can cause meningitis and septicaemia, which can both be fatal.

Caroline Williams, 33, from Tredegar, believes the jab could have saved her son Caden, who died 18 months ago - before it was announced that babies would be routinely vaccinated.

She spoke to BBC Radio Wales.
