North Wales action plan is launched to fight child sex abuse
A new action plan aiming to help fight child sexual exploitation is being launched in north Wales.
The initiative is part of a conference focusing on the issue in Llandudno on Thursday.
Sara Lloyd Evans, from the North Wales Safeguarding Children's Board, said the essence of the action place is to "make safeguarding everybody's business".
Delegates due to attend the meeting include social workers, health workers and North Wales Police staff.
Ms Evans told BBC Radio Wales that the extent of the issue in north Wales cannot currently be quantified, but that referrals are increasing.
"The thrust of the meeting today is to get the message regarding child sex exploitation right down to the roots of the communities," she said.
