Newport Liberty Steel workers 'stuck with us'

The boss at the restarted Liberty Steel plant in Newport has praised the workers for sticking with the company.

The 150-strong workforce was laid off on half pay in the summer of 2013 as the new owners waited for conditions to improve.

Liberty group managing director Sanjeev Gupta said he wanted to keep the workforce intact for when the plant was ready to reopen.

He told BBC Wales business correspondent Brian Meechan there were still wider issues for the industry which the UK government needed to fix.
