Cwmbran infants school head on fire

An investigation is under way into a fire at a primary school in Cwmbran early on New Year's Day.

The blaze destroyed Coed Eva's infants school building.

Ten fire crews fought through the night to stop flames spreading to the junior school.

South Wales Fire and Rescue said they were called to a fire in a single storey school building at 02:27 GMT.

Local residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed at the height of the fire.

Head teacher Gill Ellis gave her reaction.
