Flood victim Eirlys Evans: 'We're old and we can't cope'

A resident of a flood-hit village in north Wales has said she has had two Christmases ruined by flooding.

Eirlys Evans said financial assistance would be welcomed as First Minister Carwyn Jones visited Tal-y-bont near Bangor a week after residents were left waiting for him.

Residents expressed anger last week after the first minister did not show up.

He has apologised but said he did not know they had been expecting him.

Mr Jones has pledged £2.3m to protect communities which will be for immediate support for homes and businesses affected by flooding over Christmas.
