'Second coming' for Welsh car industry - expert

Aston Martin is to build its new luxury car in south Wales, creating 750 highly-skilled jobs.

The DBX Concept car will be hand-made in a super hangar at St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan.

It is a major coup for Wales, which took two years to secure the deal ahead of 20 locations around the world.

As well as attracting one of motoring's most prestigious names, it is expected to create around 1,000 jobs with suppliers and local business.

Motor industry economist Prof Garel Rhys of Cardiff Business School said it could be the start of a "second coming" for car making in Wales, as well as bringing in further investment around it.
