'I was lucky to be there', says TJ's regular

A regular at former iconic Newport nightspot TJ's said he feels lucky to have been around while it was open.

The club attracted many bands that would go on to become household names such as Oasis, Manic Street Preachers and Green Day.

But it closed in 2010 after the death of owner John Sicolo.

As his grandson, Ashley, prepares to open a new venue based on it, Dean Beddis says he hopes memories of TJ's can help create "something good".
