E-cig law fails after minister's 'cheap date' jibe

A public health law, which includes a ban on e-cigarette use in some public places, has failed after a minister called Plaid Cymru "a cheap date".

Plaid Cymru decided to vote against it after Public Services Minister Leighton Andrews made the remark when talking about an earlier deal between the two parties.

Prior to this, the party had a free vote and some Plaid AMs were expected to support the bill.

Licensing for tattooists and a ban on the intimate piercing of under-16s also featured in the Public Health Bill.
