Tata: Why steel still important to Llanwern and Newport

Tata Steel's decision to sell its UK operations has implications beyond Port Talbot.

There are still hundreds of jobs in other plants, including just under 500 at Port Talbot's sister plant, Llanwern in Newport.

Prof Jonathan Deacon of the University of South Wales says despite cuts over the years, steel was still an important foundation to the city's economy.
